Connecting your WordPress website to Google Search Console allows you to not only monitor your site’s traffic, but also get a good idea of how internet users find you.
Thankfully, it’s a pretty straightforward process, and I am going to be walking you through it immediately.
2 Steps to Linking Your WordPress Website to Google Search Console (GSC)
Step 1: Launch GSC and Input Your Website’s URL
The very first step is to launch GSC. You must be signed into your Google account to do this. Click Add property and input your website’s URL.

Step 2: Verify the Ownership of Your Website
The next step is to prove to Google that indeed you own the site you are adding as a property. There are many ways to do this. The easiest way is to inject the HTML tag code into the header section of your site.
You could use a header or footer plugin for this purpose. But to keep things simple, I will be using the Google Site Kit Plugin. It makes the entire process seamless and fast.
All you have to do is install and activate the plugin, log in to your Google account, and follow the verification steps. A

Note that you might get an error alert when you hit the verify button, but it’s certainly nothing to be worried about.
